Samples (Samples)
The Index to Marine and Lacustrine Geological Samples is a collaborative database whose purpose is to help scientists locate and obtain geologic samples collected from the sea floor and lakebeds curated by participating sample repositories. NGDC maintains the database on behalf of the participating institutions, several of which receive support from the US National Science foundation to contribute data to the Index.
