ACAP applies to the birds’ complete ranges, that is all the areas of land or water that any albatross or petrel inhabits, stays in temporarily, crosses, or over-flies at any time on its normal migration routes.

The area of competence of the CCBSP is the high seas area of the Bering Sea beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea of the coastal States of the Bering Sea is measured.

The area of theCommittee is defined as all the waters of the Atlantic bounded by a line drawnas follows: from a point on the high water mark on the African coast at CapeSpartel (lat. 35°47’N, long. 5°55’W) following the high water mark along theAfrican coast to a point at Ponta de Moita Seca (lat. 6°07’S, long. 12°16’E)along a rhumb line in a northwesterly direction to a point on 6° south latitudeand 12° east longitude, thence due west along 6° south latitude to 20° westlongitude, thence due north to the Equator, thence due west to 30° westlongitude, thence due north to 5° north longitude, thence due west to 40° westlongitude, thence due north to 36° north longitude, thence due east to 6° westlongitude, thence along a rhumb line in a southeasterly direction to theoriginal point a Cape Spartel.

Geographic Area of Competence of Ministerial Conference on Fisheries Cooperation Among African States Bordering the Atlantic (COMHAFAT-ATLAFCO) (RFB_COMHAFAT-ATLAFCO)

Beginning at the Namibian-South African boundary at the mouth of the Orange River, thence due west along the 30º South parallel to the meridian 20° West, thence due north along the 20º West meridian to the equator, thence due west along the equator to the meridian 30° West, thence due north along the 30º West meridian to a parallel 5° North, thence due west along the 5º North parallel to the meridian 40° West, thence due north along the 40º West meridian to the 36° North parallel, thence due east to the coast of the African continent at Cape Spartel.

Geographic Area of Competence of Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) (RFB_IATTC)

The IATTC area of application comprises the area of the Pacific Ocean bounded by the coastlineof North, Central, and South America and by the following lines: the 50°Nparallel from the coast of North America to its intersection with the 150°W meridian; the 150°W meridian to its intersection with the 50°S parallel; and the 50°S parallel to its intersection with the coast of South America.

Geographic Area of Competence of North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC) (RFB_NEAFC)

Those parts of the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans and their dependent seas which lie north of 36° north latitude and between 42° west longitude and 51° east longitude, but excluding: (i) the Baltic Sea and the Belts lying to the south and east of lines drawn from Hasenøre Head to Gniben Point, from Korshage to Spodsbjerg and from Gilbjerg Head to the Kullen. and (ii) the Mediterranean Sea and its dependent seas as far as the point of intersection of the parallel of 36° latitude and the meridian of 5°36' west longitude. NEAFC’s area of competence also includes the part of the Atlantic Ocean north of 59° north latitude and between 44° west longitude and 42° west longitude.

Geographic Area of Competence of North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC) (RFB_NPFC)

NPFC has competence over the waters of the high seas area of the North Pacific Ocean, excluding the high seas areas of the Bering Sea and other high seas areas that are surrounded by the exclusive economic zone of a single State. The area of application is bounded to the south by a continuous line beginning at the seaward limit of waters under the jurisdiction of the United States of America around the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands at twenty (20) degrees North latitude, then proceeding East and connecting the following coordinates: 20°00'00”N, 180°00'00"E/W; 10°00'00"N, 180°00'00"E/W; 10°00'00"N, 140°00'00"W; 20°00'00"N, 140°00'00"W; and thence East to the seaward limit of waters under the fisheries jurisdiction of Mexico.

The area of competence of OSPESCA extends to the national waters, inland waters and EEZs of its Member States.

The temperate and sub-Arctic region of the North Pacific Ocean and its adjacent seas, especially northward from 30 degrees North Latitude. Activities of the Organization, for scientific reasons, may extend farther southward in the North Pacific Ocean.

Geographic Area of Competence of South Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA) (RFB_SIOFA)

SIOFA's area of competence is bounded by a linejoining the following points along parallels of latitude and meridians oflongitude, excluding waters under national jurisdiction: Commencing at the landfall on the continent of Africaof the parallel of 10° North; from there east along thatparallel to its intersection with the meridian of 65° East; from there southalong that meridian to its intersection with the equator; from there east alongthe equator to its intersection with the meridian of 80° East; from there southalong that meridian to itsintersectionwith the parallel of 20° South; from there east along that parallel to itslandfall on the continent of Australia; from there south and then east alongthe coast of Australia to its intersection with the meridian of 120° East; fromthere south along that meridian to its intersection with the parallel of 55°South; from there west along that parallel to its intersection with the meridianof 80° East; from there north along that meridian to its intersection with theparallel of 45° South; from there west along that parallel to its intersectionwith the meridian of 30° East; from there north along that meridian to itslandfall on the continent of Africa.

Geographic Area of Competence of South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO) (RFB_SPRFMO)

The waters of the Pacific Ocean beyond areas of national jurisdiction, defined as follows: (a) East of a line extending south along the 120° meridian of east longitude from the outer limit of the national jurisdiction of Australia off the south coast of Western Australia to the intersection with the 55° parallel of south latitude; then due east along the 55° parallel of south latitude to the intersection with the 150° meridian of east longitude; then due south along the 150° meridian of east longitude to the intersection with the 60° parallel of south latitude;(b) North of a line extending east along the 60° parallel of south latitude from the 150° meridian of east longitude to the intersection with the 67° 16’ meridian of west longitude;(c) West of a line extending north along the 67° 16’ meridian of west longitude from the 60° parallel of south latitude to its intersection with the outer limit of the national jurisdiction of Chile then along the outer limits of the national jurisdictions of Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia to the intersection with the 2° parallel of north latitude; and (d) South of a line extending west along the 2° parallel of north latitude (but not including the national jurisdiction of Ecuador (Galapagos Islands) to the intersection with the 150° meridian of west longitude; then due north along the 150° meridian of west longitude to its intersection with 10° parallel of north latitude, then west along the 10° parallel of north latitude to its intersection with the outer limits of the national jurisdiction of the Marshall Islands, and then generally south and around the outer limits of the national jurisdictions of Pacific States and territories, New Zealand and Australia until it connects to the commencement of the line described in paragraph (a) above. SPRFMO also has competence in the waters of the Pacific Ocean beyond areas of national jurisdiction bounded by the 10° parallel of north latitude and the 20° parallel of south latitude and by the 135° meridian of east longitude and the 150° meridian of west longitude.

Geographic Area of Competence of Southwest Indian Ocean Fisheries Commission (SWIOFC) (RFB_SWIOFC)

The area of competence of the Commission shall be all waters of the Indian Ocean (including those under the national jurisdiction of Member States), bounded by a line drawn as follows: from a point on the high water mark on the East African coast at latitude 10° 00 N, thence due east along this parallel to the longitude 65°00 E, thence due south along this meridian to the equator, thence due east along this parallel to the longitude 80° 00 E, thence due south along this meridian to a parallel 45° 00 S, thence due west along this parallel to the longitude 30° 00 E, thence due north along this meridian to the coast of the African Continent.
