All of our more than 500 employees live and work in communities all across the North. This dataset provides the locations of Northwestel's Fibre Optic Lines in the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Description This dataset provides the locations of Northwestel's Fibre Optic lines in the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. The cad file has the datum (LL83) stored in the drawing. Might not be much use unless you have a Map 3D product to view it. As far as the abbreviations are concerned: C.O. = Central Office M/W = Microwave site with tower Earth Stn = Satellite site (where it is in a different location than the community C.O.) Cell = Cell tower site Fibre = Fibre repeater site

Data represents thermal [diesel, gas] and hydro electric power [purchased, consumed, generated] as provided by the NT Energy Corp for installations under the stewardship of the NT Power Corp. The data is indented for applications supporting the GNWT Hydro Strategy [NTEC CDC web application]. Data for for each of the NWT communities as well as the two major hydro electric generation stations [Snare, Taltson] contain sales [MW], customers, revenues, hydro electric consumption [MW, MWh], natural gas consumption [cubic m, MWh], diesel consumption [cubic m, MWh], purchased power, total generation, total population. GHG CO2e emmision factors can also be derived from the base attributes. The data is intended to facilitate market reports for the NT Energy Corp's Capacity Demand and Consumption web application tool. The initial data set contains statistics for 2007-2008 fiscal [as provided by NT Energy Corp]. Attributes will be updated as data is available from the NT Energy Corp.
