Parks and protected areas are defined as: (a) A property explicitly zoned as such in information supplied by the municipality (b) In the case that explicit zoning does not exist, information as provided and/or verified by the municipality or other administrative body. Due to differences in definitions parks and protected areas between different adminstrative areas, this layer is not guranteed to be fully comprehensive or consistant. Layer is updated on a regular basis, but not all areas are guranteed to be up to date.

Roads for CRD, CVRD, GVRD (ferry routes) and NRD. Data received from the Province. A complete roads centreline network for the entire CRD. Most roads were driven with GPS equipped vehicle. Road network can be geocoded and includes a comprehensive set of attributes.
All Road Types 1-1.5K (11)
The Digital Roads Atlas (DRA) is received monthly via GeoBC/Province of BC. The DRA is a data management system representing a complete and accurate road network of all the roads in British Columbia. The DRA includes a combination of spatial data (such as road geometry) and attribute data (such as surface type and address information). It includes all types of roads, from resource roads to alleyways. The road information is obtained from aerial photos or roads driven with GPS referencing. Roads and intersections are represented geometrically as centrelines and points, respectively.

Geographic Labels (28)
The Canadian Geographical Names Data Base (CGNDB) is the data bank of Canada's geographical names, maintained by the Geographical Names Section, part of the Centre for Topographic Information, Geomatics Canada, Natural Resources Canada. Its purpose is to store names and their attributes that have been approved by the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC) and to make these authoritative records available for government and public use.The subset of the CGNDB data which is served up in the GeoBase Portal for data extraction and visualization consists of current officially approved names, and is referred to as the Canadian Geographical Names (CGN) dataset. Additional attributes for this dataset as well as information on formerly approved names are available through the Canadian Geographical Names Service (CGNS).The geographic extent of this data is the Canadian landmass and water bodies. The temporal extent of the data is from 1897 to present. The purpose of the CGN data set is to provide official names for mapping and charting, gazetteer production, and World Wide Web reference, and other georeferenced digital systems.GeoBase allows for batch extraction of geographical names for Canada. However, if you are trying to locate a specific name or place, we suggest that you visit the Canadian Geographical Names Data Base Web site.

The Canadian Geographical Names Data Base (CGNDB) is the data bank of Canada's geographical names, maintained by the Geographical Names Section, part of the Centre for Topographic Information, Geomatics Canada, Natural Resources Canada. Its purpose is to store names and their attributes that have been approved by the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC) and to make these authoritative records available for government and public use. The purpose of the Canadian Geographical Names, Level 1 (CGN1) is to provide a national repository for officially approved Canadian geographical names for mapping and charting, gazetteer production, and World Wide Web reference, and other geo-referenced digital systems. The officially approved Canadian geographical names are geographical names that have been recognized by the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC). http://www.geobase.ca/geobase/en/data/cgn/cgn1.html
