This is a WMS service for your development and your testing. The CGNS production version will be available soon. This Canadian Geographical Names Service (CGNS) of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) provides an online OpenGIS Consortium (OGC) compliant web mapping service (WMS) interface and is compatible with the CGDI. The CGNS is a 3 tiered framework of data, application, and information services. The CGNS WMS allows for custom cartographic styling through the OGC Styled Layer Descriptor (SLD) Specification. Its purpose is to display names that have been approved by the Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC) and to make these authoritative records available for government and public use.
