The National Railway Network (NRWN) focuses on providing a quality geometric description and a set of basic attributes of Canadian rail phenomena. The WMS NRWN includes Track segment, Ferry Route, Stations, Structure, Crossing and Marker Post with which are associated descriptive attributes.

Point representation of an artificial structure built to support or protect the railway. The structure could be built aboveground, underground or at ground level.
Railway Track (railway.track)
Infrastructure including two steel rails which provides a guide for the movement of trains and other equipment.
Railway Ferry Route (railway.ferry)
Average route a ferryboat takes when transporting trains between two fixed locations on the rail network.
Railway Subdivision Name (railway.subdivision)
Unit of a national or regional network of tracks used to transport freight and/or passengers.
Railway Stations (railway.station)
Location identified by a station name sign and designated by that name in a time table.
Marker Post (railway.marker_post)
Sign indicating the distance along the network.
Railway Crossings (railway.crossing)
Location along the rail network where a railway crosses another network.
